I Know It’s Been a While…
Apologies for not checking in sooner. I’ve actually been busy, I swear. This will be a short one but expect more to come. I believe a few updates are in order.
Firstly, for those of you wondering about the sequels to How to Succeed at Nothing, I regret to inform you that they are dead in the water...and I also lost access to the notes to those books…a story for another day. I may delve into nonfiction satire again at some point, but fiction has always been my passion and so I am willingly giving in to fiction once again.
You may be wondering about the somewhat grotesque cover image. That is the working cover for a project that has been developing in my mind for years, and for which I have yet to do any actual writing. It might also be combined with another story that I did actually write scenes for…a story that also had some characters and elements of The Dark Country in it. To be honest, I have no idea how this book will play out, but—
It’s intended to be massive in scale, intricate, and elegant yet macabre. The title, Trippetta, comes from a character in Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “Hop-Frog.” Yes, Poe again. Those of you who read The Dark Country know that Poe is a fixture in my imagination.
And I did spam all those Dark Country chapters in a single day on purpose. I had life stuff to attend to so I was a bit sloppy about getting those all published on here.
I plan to post my writing sketches for Trippetta on here along with inspiration images I have found on Pinterest.
It’s another weird fiction book, y’all, hope you enjoy and thank you for sticking around. As always, I appreciate your continued support.
